What is new in this release of KeyView Pro?

Enhanced Viewing Features

To enhance the viewing capability, the following features have been added to this release of KeyView Pro. To access these features in KeyView Pro, click on the View menu or the applicable toolbar button.

Increase Font

Increases the font size of the displayed text/word processing document.

Decrease Font

Decreases the font size of the displayed text/word processing document.

View As

Lets you view the displayed document in the Formatted, Hex, or Text format.

View Clipboard (KeyView Pro 32-bit only)

Lets you view the contents of the clipboard. Depending on the content type, you can view it in the Text, RTF, HTML, or BMP format.

My Computer (KeyView Pro 32-bit only)

Displays the directory structure of your computer. To view a document on your computer, simply click the file you want to view.

Improved URL Support

KeyView Pro recognizes all standard URL links in an HTML document. It also recognizes references with WWW and HTTP in a text/word processing document as URLs. To launch a URL in your Web browser, simply point and click the URL.

Enhanced Menu Items and Toolbar Buttons

A number of menu items and toolbar buttons have been replaced with more meaningful names and icons.

Multiple File Printing

You can print multiple files directly from the Windows Explorer or Windows File Manager without opening or viewing them.

Using Plug-ins in KeyView Pro

Notes about KeyView Pro

• The KeyView Pro plug-in is not intended to be invoked for ZIP files downloaded from Netscape Navigator or Communicator. However, you can use your stand-alone version of KeyView Pro to unzip and view once the file has been downloaded.
• To print a document displayed with the KeyView Pro plug-in for Netscape Communicatior 4.03, you must use the Print option from the KeyView Pro toolbar or shortcut menu. The Print option from the Communicator's File menu or toolbar does not work with a plug-in.
• To remove an integration, uninstall KeyView Pro and then install with the appropriate integrations selected. Integrations can only be added (not removed) at the KeyView Pro - Maintenance screen.
• KeyView Pro does not support the cc:Mail or MS Mail integration. Therefore, if you have a previous version of KeyView with these integrations, it is recommended that you first uninstall KeyView using the existing KeyView Setup program (not KeyView Pro 6.0) before installing KeyView Pro 6.0.
• KeyView Pro for Windows NT

V3.51:
• When you use KeyView Pro with long file names residing on a Netware server, you may encounter some problems. A work around exists that will allow you to fix these problems with long file names but will disable the selection of multiple documents. Using regedit add the string "nomultiselect" to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Verity/Keyview/General
• You cannot select long directory names on a Netware server when you use the Extract option. Windows will display a message specifying an invalid filename.
• If you have ever installed Quick View Plus for Windows 95, and then removed (uninstalled) KeyView Pro that was installed with MS Exchange client integration, the shortcut menu for viewing attachments will contain an additional menu item, Quick View File or Quick View Plus File. When you click on this item, it does nothing.

• To install KeyView Pro, you must have the Administrator rights. When you install KeyView Pro as an administrator, the KeyView Pro Install will update current user keys for all accounts resident on the machine.
• When using KeyView Pro from a Web browser, a file may be viewed from the local/network drive but not from the Internet, or vice versa. This is because most Web browsers treat files from the Internet and local/network drives differently.

When viewing a file from the Internet, the server which contains the document passes a MIME type to the browser. If this MIME type is supported by KeyView Pro, KeyView Pro will be launched to view the file.
When viewing a file from the local/network drive, the browser assigns a MIME type based on the file extension. If this MIME type is supported by KeyView Pro, KeyView Pro will be launched to view the file.
